Premiere Sponsored by Nuffnang: The Hundred-Foot Journey.

Once again, so blessed to be chosen to attend another premiere. This time is The Hundred-Foot Journey in GSC Paradigm mall.

Without further rambling, here is my movie review:

RECIPE
FOR THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY

Put it in the oven for approximately 2 hours and you'll have:

An awesome heart-warming movie!

Like what the movie title says, it is a journey and definitely a heart-warming one I've seen in a while. A short description about the movie, it is about an Indian family trying to find a new country to earn a living by opening an Indian restaurant. They ended up in France and also opposite a prestigious France restaurant. However, the main character, Hassan Kadam, slowly falls in love with one of the chef in the France restaurant and she introduced France cuisine to him. Slowly, Hassan's amazing culinary talent made him internationally famous, but is being famous and successful important?

This is a tale filled with joys, sorrows; success and failure as well. An amazing wake up call and reminder about how money doesn't equals happiness, but your family, your roots and relationships matters way more.

Embarrassingly, I did shear a tear or two. I'll summarise the emotion of this movie brings with this " :')" This is a movie I would really recommend to the old and young, especially the people who are working hard to chase money.

Also, note how when Malaysians are asked what is their favourite thing about Malaysia, majority of them will say "FOOD!". This is a good reminder of how food can show off our culture and unite people of different races too.

I'll rate this a 4.5/5!

Disclaimer: Please remember to eat before or during the movie, my stomach literally rumbled because of the food cinematography. #FOODPORN

Premiere Sponsored by Nuffnang: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Review.

So I had the privilege to watch Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy the night before the release date with premiere tickets sponsored by Nuffnang, thank you so much (: It is such a blessing!

Without rambling any further, here is my review

1. Exhilarating action
Well, it is a Marvel movie, of course there are some heavy-duty actions of spaceships and space guns :P Not to mention lots of combat and even branches too! Overall, very creative weapons and methods of combat.

2. Fresh
This movie really stood out from the rest because of the more retro, 80s feel and it is generally more "bright" with their happy and upbeat 80s songs, compared to most of the Marvel movie with the modern, dark theme.

3. Hilarious
This might be the most hilarious Marvel movie out there. It was not just some lame awkward jokes in there, but genuinely funny ones (:

4. Emotional
Expect your heartstrings to be strung by some of the scenes in this movie. Don't want to give out much cause nobody likes spoilers!

5. Awesome effects and visuals
Seriously, the effects, CGIs are getting better in each movie to come, enough said! But their visuals and camera angles are absolutely stunning!

6. Great character development
This movie shows these five characters that eventually got on a mission together, each bearing their own unique personality. It is good how in a two hours movie you can see them slowly growing and developing their own character.

7. The sound effects
One thing I've noticed is in this movie, it has more than usual songs played, not those kind of background music songs but those with lyrics and all. Though some songs might not be relevant as much with their respective scenes but their timings and beats fits in so right. As an occasional video editor, putting the right beats at the right time can really influence the mood of the audience and this movie did a really good job doing so!

Guardians of the Galaxy might be shadowed by the rest of the more popular Marvel characters, but this is a real eye catching gem and might spark the interest of many. To be able to fit comedy, action, a little romance and emotional elements inside, it is a good balance of everything. To rate it, I give it a 4.5/5!
If you enjoy a good balance of everything and a good laugh, I would definitely recommend this movie (: and come on, it's Marvel!

How to get a Malaysian Driving License.

Hullo dear Malaysians! Although I'm not an expert, I hope to be able to shed some light on how to get your driving license in Malaysia. Note that I got my license in 2013 so if any changes have been made after that, sorry :P

Step 1: Choose your driving centre.
Tip: Do choose one that is nearer to you and do take note of where is the circuit they are using, travelling can be really tiring!

Step 2: Attend the Undang ceramah.
Yes it will take several hours, it will be good if you attend with a friend to keep you company (: It is not that bad, just work through it!

Step 3: The Undang test.
This is the dreaded theory test D: however my tip is to DO ALL 500 QUESTIONS on the book they'll give you! 500 really seems a lot, but some of the questions are repeated or have the same meaning, so it will be a breeze. You are given a book to read too, due to the short amount of time I had, I did not read the book and just do the questions, with a few occasional referring back to the book to find answers. Or if you are lazy like me, you can actually see what is the answer first and study from there :P

But seriously, to pass, just do all the questions. I did more than 100 questions in 30 minutes cause there were lots of repeats and common sense!

Note that you will take the test through a computer program, so be careful where you click.

Step 4: The practical ceramah.
Congratulations! you pass the undang test! Now you have to attend the practical ceramah. Now this is not to bad compared to the undang one cause you get to learn how to change a tire and actually drive for 10 minutes.

DO TAKE NOTE! after your practical ceramah, you will have to wait for around a month to obtain your L license, that license enables you start taking driving lessons from your instructor. So I recommend you to attend the ceramah as fast as you can/ before holiday/ before exams/ before you're busy so the wait will not be torturous.

In my experience, I delayed my practical ceramah cause I was afraid that I will forget how to drive after I come back from my holiday trip. BUT PLEASE NO! You can never forget how to drive manual and you will have for quite some time before you can actually start having driving lessons. For me, I had to wait for 2 months -.-

Step 5: The mandatory 10 hours driving lessons.
Yes you have to go through 10 hours of lessons no matter how good you are. Now, the most important one, your instructor. I cannot stress how important getting a good instructor is, one that is patient and kind.

In my experience, I got a really bad tempered and rude instructor, not only that, he wasted my money and hours by leaving me in the car under the scorching sun while he takes his sweet time to eat breakfast! I admit, I am a slow learner and a little traumatised of driving. However, this instructor didn't help at all, he scolded me and even slapped my thigh when I did something wrong. Honestly, I cried after every driving lesson cause it was too traumatising and I feel so hopeless. After that, I requested to change instructor. But just my luck, my next instructor is the same but a little nicer ( The centre I go to has only two instructors, no choice!). I go through a whopping 23 hours to be completely ready for the test! But seriously, I suffered from a little depression because of these two instructors and I can confidently say that my experience of getting my license is a really bad one.

But don't worry! most of my friends had really nice and patient instructors (: Just change instructors when you think he/she is not the one of help.

Step 6: The driving exam.
This is definitely the hardest part of all, the ultimate exam to get your license. It is separated into two sections, one driving on the road and circuit (Three point turn, parking and slope). If you pass one and fail another, the next time you come you will just have to re-take the one you've failed.

Just be calm and slowly think through what you are doing, if you are nervous, you will not do as well so chill! And the wait before your turn can be horrendous, so take that time to rest and not freak out.

In my experience, I failed the first time because of the slope. Now the slope! Just press the accelerator MORE THAN USUAL. Now the about blaming the cars, I'm sure you know the clutch level is higher. Good or bad. it is based on your luck but it couldn't be that bad. Overall, JUST KEEP CALM.

Step 7: Yay!
Now you've passed the exam, congratulations there is a new driver on the road! Getting your P license should be faster than getting your L license.

Now drive safe and responsibly!

I'm just speaking from experience here, I did everything in PJ area by the way. Hope that this helped you in any way (: All the best and don't beat yourself up if you fail countless times, you can always try again. But please I don't believe in bribing anyone, the satisfaction of you getting your license all by yourself will be rewarding (:

Don't ever give up! Honestly I really dread my license-obtaining experience like crazy (Balancing college and these drama, ugghh!), it took me almost the whole year cause of some inefficiencies but most people I know got their license within 1-2 months. Now to pass the parent's test :P

God Bless!

After 3 years,

Oh gosh.
The last I updated was September 9th 2011, it is 10th July 2014 now, almost three years!
Well pin-pointing out the reason why this blog is very dead is easy, busy with education and life ^^'
But today I stumbled upon my old blogs and read a few posts, despite the fact that my language used here is kinda cringe-worthy, I was hit by a wave, no tsunami of nostalgia.
I remember when I was in high school, around 2008-2011, blogspots were the "in" thing, I think Facebook was only invented in 2009 so where else can we write about our feelings and express them? Blogs! I remember visiting periodically to almost all of my friend's blogs and nudging them the next day to update them. When exams end, oh man there is when almost all of my friend's blog is updated. I'm really grateful for this time when blogs are the "in" thing, cause we blog, we tell stories about what happen, memories that formed. Now, they are monuments that still remain and go back when we forgot about how we were as a person that time.

Well, I got to admit that I change a whole lot since my last post, I mean who doesn't change? I graduated high school, went to a bible camp and graduated college, soon going overseas to pursue my dream course. There were many obstacles, lessons, good times, inspiring friends along the way that made me the person who I am today and I appreciate every thing about it (:

Gahh, you know I'm kinda no good with words. I'm just feeling emotional right now, I can feel what my old self felt behind every single post and I just want to send myself back in time, savour all the good times, all the hidden meanings behind the posts, all the hurt altogether. But time to move on, it's amazing how time flies.

My old 16 year old self can't imagine what will happen in 4 years time, but I'm grateful that I can look back at my old self. *Deteriorating memory right here*

I don't think I will come back to blogging, for one, my life is not so interesting to be blogged about constantly, two, I'm mostly involved in designing now so I have to stare at the computer for a long time already, might lose determination to blog this way, but I might incase there is something to blog about. But still I think most of my readers are gone for now ^^'

Ignoring that fact, it is good for myself to stop, look back and reflect. (:

Sunway college, lots of new experiences made here.

Graduated college in June 2014!

Bible camp, where I met most of my close friends today and have my relationship with God taken more seriously.

That's all! Love life guys :D

this very dead blog

Reasons why I have not been updating
- form 4 = more hard subjects = no time to blog
- often have exams
- other than studies activities
- holidays = catching up with studies time
- extracurricular activities = stay back = no time to blog or even online
- if i do online, most of the time spent in photoshop
yeah study study study. especially when finals is one month from today.
but I find it convenient to update in my tumblr site, my escape paradise haha.
